Chili
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 3 (15.5 oz) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (14.5 oz) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1 tsp liquid smoke flavoring (or bacon grease to sub)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 dash hot pepper sauce or to taste
Directions
- Cook bacon and onion together in a large pot over medium heat until the onion is translucent. ~5min
- Add ground beef, garlic, cumin to pot. Cook/stir until beef is browned. 7-10min
- Add other ingredients to mixture. Simmer and cook until thick. ~1hr
